2025 Annual Conference - Call for Expressions of Interest Program Committee

The Annual Conference is the premier resources and energy law conference in Australia and the Asian region and we want you involved in the design and development of the 2025 Conference Program.

The 2025 BPC is chaired by Jane Ballard (HSF).  Deputy Chair is John Keeves (JWS). Its role is to develop another themed, high quality, dynamic programme reflecting the key legal, commercial and political issues of interest to ER Law members, and to contribute to the design of the total conference experience.

Energy & Resources Law is calling for expressions of interest in joining the 2025 Annual Conference Business Program Committee (“BPC”) for the Annual Conference to be held in Perth in September 2025.

The Annual Conference is the premier resources and energy law conference in Australia and the Asian region and we want you involved in the design and development of the 2025 Conference Program.

The 2025 BPC is chaired by Jane Ballard (HSF).  Deputy Chair is John Keeves (JWS). Its role is to develop another themed, high quality, dynamic programme reflecting the key legal, commercial and political issues of interest to ER Law members, and to contribute to the design of the total conference experience to give members and delegates the opportunity to:

  • experience the best industry specific education – access to expertise, in depth
  • provide clarity on changes in the law and the operating environment
  • engage in discussion with speakers and audience
  • access professional communities, nationally
  • enhance members’ career development opportunities; &
  • advise on CPD allocation

and to continue ER Law’s tradition of assisting in creating world class energy & resources lawyers and industry professionals.

You’ll be expected to attend a series of weekly hour-long meetings beginning early February until mid-March to develop the theme, conference sessions and identify speakers and panellists. Less frequent meetings (which will not require the attendance of all committee members) will follow focusing on specific elements until the programme is finalised no later than 01 May 2025.

Members are invited to send a short email by Tuesday, 10 December 2024 outlining their interest, availability, any experience they may have had, any topics of interest and reflecting their enthusiasm for the task!

An initial meeting of the BPC will be held Wednesday, 18 December to introduce members and begin a discussion of the AC2025 Theme. Formal meetings will commence 5 February 2025.

Given the short time frame for submission of expressions of interest we may make a further request early in the New Year.

Sincerely,

Gordon Bunyan - Executive Director

Energy & Resources Law Association
